We offer a great range of colicky baby advice and care services. Our Colic Consultants give parents the expert personal support and guidance to treat their babies themselves, while our Specialist Maternity Nurses treat and care for your baby for you and then guide you to continue the treatment and care yourselves when you are feeling rested and ready to do so.

As every baby and family is different, we always personally tailor our services to best suit your individual needs.

All phone consultations are accompanied by written advice and care plans specifically for you and your baby.

Parents receive a short questionnaire to if possible complete and return for their Colic Consultant to study prior to the consultation, alternatively this can be completed by the consultant and parent at the beginning of the consultation.

Mothers will then be encouraged to describe and discuss their baby’s colic and their personal feelings concerning possible causes.

Following this your consultant will ask more question to further assess your baby’s individual needs and identify possible reasons for their colicky symptoms before offering you advice and guidance moving forward, after which you will be invited to ask any additional question or discuss any remaining concerns.

To support the consultation your consultant will compile a detailed care pack for you and your baby with written advice, a personal care plan to follow and a range of illustrated Colic Care help sheets which will be emailed to you shortly after your consultation.

During the first 10 days email support is available after which a follow up consultation is recommended to discuss your baby’s progress and to update or make any appropriate changes to the care plan and to give you additional support and advice.

Clinic appointments give us the opportunity to personally assess your baby’s colic and offer you one to one guidance.

During your appointment we will follow the same structure as phone consultations, but we are also able to spend valuable one to one time with your baby and yourself, offering us the opportunity to not only assess your baby’s colic but also personally guide you on how to follow our colic care help sheets with demonstrations including colicky feeding\winding/holding techniques.

All parents will be given illustrated Colic Care help sheets on the day and will be emailed written guidance notes and recommendations specific to their baby following the home visit.

In our experience following 2~3 weeks of hard work, patience and commitment parents will not only have a far more contented baby but also feel a great feeling of self-esteem, renewed self-confidence and a much deeper bond with their baby.

Home visits gives us a great insight into your baby within their home and possible factors adding to their colic.

Working closely with your baby in their home environment not only gives us a fuller picture to be able to personally assess your baby’s colic but also gives us the opportunity to demonstrate and guide you through a variety of appropriate baby care techniques for the prevention and treatment of your baby’s colic including simple baby massage and play/movement sequences.

Following the same structure as the phone consultations, all parents will be given illustrated Colic Care help sheets on the day and will be emailed written guidance notes and recommendations specific to their baby following the home visit.

Specialist Maternity Nurses are able to offer 8 hour - 48-hour colicky baby care and guidance.

Caring for a colicky baby is exhausting and you may feel you really need to catch up on sleep and have a little bit of time for yourself. As Specialist Maternity Nurses, we will not only give you the opportunity to do this but will also assess your baby’s colic, determine a suitable care plan, start to treat your baby’s colic and when you are ready offer you the advice and guidance you will need to continue the colic care plan following our time with you. We will also leave you with a detailed help sheets which we can demonstrate while we are with you and written advice will be emailed following our stay.

We also offer specialist care for your baby if you just need some time off/away.

Travel expenses are charged for placements over 20 miles away based on return rail fare prices from our nearest station.

All our staff are self-employed so there is no Tax or NI to pay.
